A two-dimensional thin-layer chromatographic system that separates all of the known polar lipids of milk and mammary tissue is described. The compositions of phospholipids of milk and of the mammary tissue from which the milk was derived are presented.

TLCQA: quantitative study of thin-layer chromatography

UNLABELLED An accurate, simple and low-cost image-analysis system has been set up for capturing thin-layer chromatography images, and a software package, TLCQA, has also been developed for both qualitative and quantitative analyses using the acquired image.
